2016 Scholarship Riders

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_column_text]The Podium Ambition Scholarship Programme has been set up as an alternative to the traditional Pro Team Development squad. This means that instead of riders being a part of a race day team quota and potentially fighting for selection against the pro’s, the Scholars have their own autonomy and race team with links to the professional riders when needed.

Scholars receive free membership to the Boot Out Breast Cancer Cycling Club and race in club colours.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the Scholarship programme is the fact that the riders get to work consistently as an independent unit for the whole season and by being their own team of six can develop an unrivalled team spirit, strong work ethic and the importance of self sacrifice for team results which will help them make the step up to being a professional far quicker.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3665″][vc_column_text]

BETH CRUMPTON

Already a GB rider for Cyclo-cross and Mountain Biking, Beth is targeting selection for the Mountain Bike World Championships in 2016 and will ride the road as part of her training. With role models like former World Champions Marianne Vos and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, Beth has a bright future as she continues to gain technical ability and experience in a multi-discipline environment. Although only 21, she is a superb example of the grit and determination needed to succeed and we are delighted to be supporting her journey.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3614″][vc_column_text]

MONICA DEW

Monica is a 2nd year Junior in 2016 and has already shown her all round ability on the bike. Having represented Great Britain at the mixed team sprint test event in Aigle, Monica has been a force to be reckoned with in the Junior ranks both on the track and the road. Her natural speed and innate ability to push herself make her a challenging competitor in both road and track events. Monica has joined the Scholarship programme to further her potential and hopefully fulfil her ambition of being a professional road rider in the not too distant future.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3607″][vc_column_text]

NIKOLA MATTHEWS

With experience as a London 2012 Games Maker and UCI racing experience too, Nik combines full time work with her training and continues to get faster each year. Her dedication and commitment to her team mates and the team goals make her a valuable asset to the team.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3613″][vc_column_text]

KELLY MURPHY

Starting her racing journey in 2015, after starting cycling as a means of getting to work and university, Kelly arrives to the Scholarship programme with a huge engine and an incredible willingness to learn how to fine tune everything from skills to tactics. It is exciting to see the potential of Kelly and everyone is looking forward to supporting her to succeed as both an individual and an already cemented team player following an incredible first big training camp for her at the end of 2015.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3615″][vc_column_text]

BETHANY TAYLOR

A first year senior, Beth steps up from some brilliant performances as a junior, having won the opening road stage at the 2015 Bedford 3 Day and securing several other top 10 finishes throughout the season and all in races against senior riders! She joins the Scholarship programme to further develop her already impressive all-round ability. With the ambition of being a professional road rider, Beth is not just good at climbing but also has track craft and can read a race well.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3759″][vc_column_text]

RUTH TAYLOR

The current Masters 35-39 National Road Race and Scratch Race Champion, Ruth is another all round racer, with cyclo-cross, track and road events on her impressive palmares. Working full-time and also running her own business, Ruth brings a host of experience in a range of racing and is looking forward to refining her talents and skills to contribute to a team role whilst also continuing to improve herself. Having finished second to pro team rider Amy Gornall at the Great Orme Road Race in September 2015, Ruth has shown she is just as capable on the track as she is in a hilly road race.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_facebook][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_tweetmeme][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]
