The six riders who will line up in Framlington on Wednesday 13th June for the start of the OVO Energy Women’s Tour have now been confirmed by team owner and Sports Director Barney Storey.

The team consists of a mix of youth and experience and with all the riders having produced some great results in the recent National Road Series and OVO Energy Tour Series.

Lincoln GP winner, Becks Durrell raced the Women’s Tour in 2017, whilst the in-form Neah Evans showed her strength and technical skill to win the recent CiCLE Classic. Wembley Tour Series round winner, EJay Harris again showed her grit and ability to cope with grim conditions, whilst Beth Crumpton and recently turned 19 year old, Anna Kay have been making huge contributions to the overall team performances at every race they line up in.

For Anna the selection marks her first opportunity to race in the Women’s World Tour a prospect she is delighted to take alongside her team mates. Beth Crumpton will be most at home during stage 4 which takes in many of her familiar training roads and is also the stage dedicated to former team mate Sharon Laws.

EJay Harris celebrated her first GB team call up at the Ride London Women’s World Tour event in 2017 and has previously ridden events like Tour of California, whilst Becks Durrell is riding her 3rd season at this level and has been a key support rider for previous team leaders.

GB duo, Melissa Lowther and Neah Evans both competed in Australia at the Commonwealth Games in April putting in some impressive performances.

“I’m excited to see this line-up take on the OVO Energy Women’s Tour,” commented Barney Storey having made the selections.

“We have a strong squad which has really gelled in some tough races already this year and our performances as a team at both the Lincoln Grand Prix and CiCLE Classic show we are improving our race craft all the time.”

“We are going to be the smallest team in the peloton for the Women’s Tour, but this also means there is no expectation on us and that can lead to opportunistic moves which I know the team are keen to take. I’ll be following their every pedal stroke from the mechanics seat in the team car and am looking forward to working with our on race DS, Paul Freeman to help the riders maximise their opportunities.”
