Having raced in a number of pre-season events with great success this weekend marked the first weekend of racing for the 2019 road season.

Caitlin Peters and Kelly Murphy travelled to Dorset for the 1st round of the National Time Trial Series and defending champion Murphy picked up where she left off in 2018 with a convincing victory over the rest of the field. Peters had spent a week in Mallorca in February and produced a superb performance to not only win the Junior women’s event but also place 4th overall.

Further north, Zoe Backstedt was taking on the lads in the youth events at the Manchester Six Day event (and beating them!), whilst Elynor Backstedt and Amy Monkhouse were on GB duty at the first round of the Junior Nations Cup in Italy, where they played a supporting role for team mate Amelia Sharpe who finished 4th. Despite their efforts for the team they still rolled in for 16th and 21st respectively.

Next weekend the team of Dani Parker, Lucy Gadd and Caitlin Peters travel to Junior Gent Wevelgem whilst Elynor Backstedt and Amy Monkhouse are again on GB duty. Monica Dew will open her account at the Capernwry event too.
