Storey Racing strengthen their line up with Lizzy Banks joining the team for the remainder of the year. Her first appearance for the team will be this weekend at the London Nocturne on Saturday and the final round of the National Time Trial Series near Bedford on Sunday.

After a successful start to the season in winning the first round of the National Road Series at Tour of the Wolds and numerous impressive rides at the National Time Trial Series, Lizzy is one of the breakthrough talents of 2017 who also secured a top 30 finish inside a select group at Tour of Yorkshire. She achieved multiple top 10 finishes at the Tour Series and is a serious GC contender in the stage race environment.

Speaking of her new team Lizzy said, “I’m delighted to be joining Storey Racing and working with such a well supported and talented group of riders. My ambition is to be a professional cyclist and this team is known for helping riders to achieve their goals.”

Studying medicine in Sheffield, Lizzy will bring additional fire power to an already strong team who are leading the individual standings of the National Road Series with Chanel Mason. With Lizzy placed just a few points behind, the team now has the exciting opportunity to succeed with two riders.

Speaking of the new recruit, Sports Director Barney Storey said, “Lizzy is a talented rider and the speed of her development in the past year has been very impressive, she is a very focused and consistent rider and excited to contribute to our rider centred environment. Whether working for a team leader or taking the lead role herself, Lizzy is an exciting prospect and we are delighted to have the opportunity to welcome her to our line up.”

After this weekend, the team continues it’s busy schedule with Round 5 of the National Road Series on June 18th at Curlew Cup, followed by the National Road Championships and Rounds 6 & 7 of the National Road Series just days apart. The next UCI opportunity for the team will come in July with the team headed to Thuringen Rundfahrt before they resume the National Road Series.

“It’s a busy time for all teams at the moment,” continued Barney, ” and Lizzy will complement the current riders in our team very well, so everyone will have an even greater opportunity of succeeding together and personifying our ethos #BestVersionOfYou.”
