Just a day after celebrating her birthday, Kinga Ingram is confirmed as a member of the Storey Racing team through to the end of 2021.
Kinga, who will race as a second year junior in 2021, is currently a member of the British Cycling Junior Academy with multi-discpline strengths in track and road. She joins the Storey Racing team this autumn so as to benefit from the transition back in to racing following the cancellation of so many events due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking of her move to the team, Dame Sarah Storey said, “We are delighted to announce the membership of Kinga with a few weeks left to run in the 2020 road racing season.”
“Kinga has shown immense resilience during a challenging lockdown period without racing and is looking to benefit from our team structure in the final few events that are available to race.”
“From speaking to her about her goals and ambitions, her work ethic and organisation, it is clear she is an incredibly determined rider and one that is keen to deliver at the highest level. I am excited to see her working alongside our more experienced members of the team and having access to some of the resources our sponsors can provide.”
Kinga starts her time with the team at a 25 mile Time Trial at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire this weekend and is excited to be involved, saying, “I have watched the Storey Racing setup for a while now and am very keen to be a part of the ethos they share with the hashtag #BestVersionOfYou. I have always tried to focus on bettering my own performance and so it seems that this is a perfect fit for me.”
“I was only introduced to the other riders a couple of days ago, but already they are messaging me and a very friendly bunch, I can’t wait to meet them in person and race alongside them with the support that Sarah and Barney provide.”
With less than a month until the final road events of the shortened 2020 domestic season, Storey Racing are focusing on the opportunity of racing at the Thruxton event on Sunday 11th October. Hosting an individual and 4up Team Time Trial it is a superb chance for everyone to see each other at a social distance and put the incredible training effort during lockdown to good use on a rare closed circuit time trial event.
