Chanel came to Storey Racing from the Army Cycling team in 2017 where she burst on to the National level scene with two podiums from the first two National Series events. This put her in the leaders jersey for the first half of the series. An instructor in the Royal Army Physical Training Corps, Chanel was granted full time training for 2018 and 2019 as well as membership of the Army TAS programme. Now back working in her Warrant Officer role, Chanel remains a vital member of the Storey Racing line up as an incredible motivator and team player.
Chanel is passionate about encouraging people of all ages to ride bikes and is heavily involved in supporting new talent through the Army Sports system. Having started cycling in 2009 as part of training for triathlon, Chanel then began road racing in 2013. A multi-talented sportswomen, Chanel has also competed for the Army in Triathlon and running events, as well as gaining selection for the Kabaddi World Championships in 2011 and 2012. A Masters Road Race Champion in 2016 and finishing 4th in the Isle of Man Women’s National Road Series, showed Chanel’s strengths at their best as she flourishes when a race is hard.
2020 will be a return to combining the world of sport and work, but as ever it is a challenge that Chanel is more than prepared for and one that she is excited to get stuck in to.
