14 year old Cat Ferguson from Skipton joins Storey Racing with immediate effect. An all rounder, with excellent results as a Youth B rider in cyclocross, track and road, Cat has recently started time-trialling to provide more race opportunities during the coronavirus pandemic. Having had a successful start to the National Cyclocross Trophy, Cat’s recently started back in the Manchester Track League and will therefore make her debut for the team on Friday 16th October.

Speaking of the move to Storey Racing, Cat said; “I first met Sarah out in Lanzarote and have been following the team ethos closely. I love the focus of being driven to achieve your personal best and am excited to start racing in the kit.”

Team captain and manager, Dame Sarah Storey spoke excitedly about the inclusion of Cat in the team, saying, “We have enjoyed working with riders during the past few cyclocross seasons and so to have Cat join, as our youngest member, is incredibly exciting.

“Her results on the road and track are brilliant, but her vision and drive to be the best she can be is very inspiring for such a young rider. I am looking forward to supporting and guiding her to achieve her best as she tackles the winter cyclocross season and looks forward to hopefully a more normal year of road racing in 2021.”

Beyond the track league events Cat will then take on the third round of the Shibden Cyclocross league on Saturday 24th October, before returning her attentions to the National Cyclocross Trophy.

Sports Director, Barney Storey said, “Our youngest riders don’t get many opportunities to race alongside the senior riders, but we take care to integrate them as often as we can to help with their development and provide mentoring opportunities. Cat has a bright future and we are delighted to be working with her.”

More details on Cat will be shared on our website over the coming days as we build her profile page and share the ways in which you can follow her progress.
